• Data collection opens for ASCA’s 2019 Salary & Benefits Survey. There is no cost to participate in the survey, and ASCs that complete at least 40 percent receive personalized results for free

Friday, May 3

• Online registration closes for the ASCA 2019 Conference & Expo, May 15–18 in Nashville, TN

Monday, May 6–Sunday, May 12

• National Nurses Week, a time dedicated to celebrating the important role nurses play in health care

Tuesday, May 7 

• ASCA CEO Bill Prentice will participate in the keynote panel discussion “Washington Update—Reading the Tea Leaves” at 3:40 pm CT during the opening general session of the 2019 Physician Practice Management & ASC Symposium, May 7–8, in Nashville, TN 

Saturday, May 11 

• ASCA CEO Bill Prentice will participate in the panel discussion “Ambulatory Anesthesia and Surgery: Accreditation and Industry Trends” at 8:00 am CT at the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) 34th Annual Meeting, May 9–11, in Austin, TX 

Wednesday, May 15 

• 2019 ASCA State Leaders Conference, taking place from 12:00 pm–4:00 pm CT at ASCA 2019 in Nashville, TN
• First-quarter (Q1) reports from ASCA’s 2019 Clinical & Operational Benchmarking Survey are available to subscribers
• Deadline to submit data for all ASC Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program web-based measures 

Wednesday, May 15­–Saturday, May 18

• ASCA 2019 Conference & Expo in Nashville, TN

Friday, May 31

• Last day to participate in ASCA’s 2019 Salary & Benefits Survey—and qualify to receive personalized results for free

Month of May

• Purchase the new edition of Finance & Accounting for ASCs, available online and onsite at ASCA 2019. This publication is also a suggested study material for the Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC)™ exam
• Apply for a Medical Mission Scholarship, provided through the ASCA Foundation’s partnership with One World Surgery. Scholarship eligibility has been expanded to include CRNAs and sterile processors in addition to nurses, surgical techs and scrub techs (scholarships available to ASCA members only)
• Save the date for ASCA’s Member Appreciation Week, June 17–21, a week dedicated to celebrating ASCA’s loyal members
• Plan now to recognize National ASC Month in August
