ASCA’s Government Affairs Department promotes the interests of the ASC community before federal and state legislative, regulatory and executive agencies. By working with state ASC associations and industry leaders, the department is able to identify and analyze critical health policy issues concerning ASCs and acts to enhance and protect their ability to continue providing high-quality patient care.
The department also works to keep the ASC community alerted and engaged on the most important policy challenges facing ASCs. ASC community involvement is the most powerful tool for shaping and influencing public policy.

Government Affairs Update

ASCAPAC
ASCAPAC is ASCA’s nonpartisan political action committee. ASCAPAC is dedicated to electing and supporting strong ASC advocates in Congress so that the ASC community can continue to grow with full government support. For more information or to get involved, please contact David Opong-Wadee.
Grassroots Advocacy
Constant contact with your members of Congress is crucial to the success of ASCs. ASCA offers a few programs to help. Twice a year, physician owners, ASC administrators and other ASC staff take part in ASCA’s Capitol fly-ins, traveling to Washington, DC, for a series of meetings with US senators and representatives to advocate on behalf of the ASC community.
ASCA can also help you host your members of Congress at your facility. National ASC Day is a great opportunity to show your elected representatives your center firsthand.
