The coalition letter voices ASCA’s support for the Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2022 (H.R. 8800), introduced by Representatives Ami Bera, MD (D-CA), and Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN), which would provide an additional 4.42 percent to the physician conversion factor (CF) for 2023.

Anesthesia care was not associated with patient characteristics, such as older age or worse health status, but with the ophthalmologists' usual approach to cataract surgery sedation.
