The US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) has allocated an additional $20 billion in grants to Medicare providers, including ambulatory surgery centers, starting today, April 24. These grants are part of the $100 billion in relief funds included in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020 that was signed by President Donald Trump on March 27, 2020.

ASCs who have already received payments from the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund may still be eligible for these funds but they must attest to each payment associated with their billing Taxpayer Identification Number(s). In addition, providers who have already received payments will need to upload their most recent IRS tax filings as well as estimates of lost revenues for March and April 2020.

ASCs will need to submit their revenue information to the General Distribution Portal for additional general distribution funds.
