CAIP Credential Overview
CAIP is the first credential designed specifically for infection preventionists in the ASC industry. This certification distinguishes those with a comprehensive understanding of the skills and knowledge that the role of an ASC infection preventionist requires.
Exam Content and Study Materials
The CAIP exam tests knowledge in five content areas:
- Infection Prevention Program Development, Implementation and Maintenance
- Infection Prevention and Control Education and Training
- Surveillance, Data Collection and Analysis
- Infection Prevention Strategies
- Instrument/Equipment Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization
Applicants can access study materials to prepare for the exam on the CAIP website.
