Quality Reporting Data Due This Month

The deadline to submit 2016 data for the Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program is Tuesday, August 15, 2017. This applies to the following measures:

• ASC-6: Safe Surgery Checklist Use;
• ASC-7: ASC Facility Volume Data on Selected ASC Surgical Procedures;
• ASC-9: Endoscopy/Polyp Surveillance: Appropriate Follow-up Interval for Normal Colonoscopy in Average Risk Patients; and
• ASC-10: Endoscopy/Polyp Surveillance: Colonoscopy Interval for Patients with a History of Adenomatous Polyps – Avoidance of Inappropriate Use.

To report ASC-6, ASC-7, ASC-9 and ASC-10 data through QualityNet, facilities must have a registered Security Administrator or basic user. If staff turnover has occurred, make sure to do the following:

• Make sure someone currently on staff has completed QualityNet Security Administrator registration, which enables that person to enter web-based measures and run data reports to monitor data reporting status;
• Let the ASCQR Program contractor know when new staff members need to be added as users through the ASC Contact Information Update Form; and
• Make sure all appropriate staff take advantage of ListServe registration, which keeps them in the loop about latest program developments.

To check data submission status for ASC-6, ASC-7, ASC-9 and ASC-10, enter your facility’s National Provider Identifier (NPI) into the Web-Based Status Listing search function.
