April 14 and May 15 Deadlines Are Essential for Medicare Quality Reporting Success
By April 14, all eligible Medicare-certified ASCs that want to avoid future payment penalties must complete a new form electronically via the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) website in order to be able to report on ASC-8. Each facility’s primary contact with NHSN is required to accept the new NHSN Agreement to Participate and Consent by April 14, 2018, or you will not be able to submit data in NHSN for ASC-8 and functionality will be disabled until the consent form is accepted by your facility’s primary contact.
This year’s submission deadline for all ASC Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program web-based measures is May 15, 2018. This is the first year that the web-based measure reporting dates are aligned. As a reminder:
- ASC-8: Influenza Vaccination Coverage among Healthcare Personnel is reported through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
- ASC-9: Endoscopy/Polyp Surveillance: Appropriate Follow-Up Interval for Normal Colonoscopy in Average Risk Patients is reported via QualityNet.
- ASC-10: Endoscopy/Polyp Surveillance: Colonoscopy Interval for Patients with a History of Adenomatous Polyps – Avoidance of Inappropriate Use is reported via QualityNet.
