Nursing contact hours: This program is approved for nursing contact hours by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #6949.

Administrator Education Units (AEUs): This program is approved for the Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC)™ certification by BASC Provider #3272.

Infection Prevention Contact Hours (IPCHs): This program is approved for the Certified Ambulatory Infection Preventionist (CAIP)™ certification by BASC Provider #3272.

Attendees can obtain a maximum total of 26 continuing education credits from the ASCA 2021 Virtual Conference in nursing contact hours, Administrator Education Units (AEUs) and/or Infection Prevention Contact Hours (IPCHs).

Continuing education credits awarded for each session can be applied as nursing contact hours, AEUs and IPCHs simultaneously but are applied independently for each purpose, not added together and then applied. For example:

  • If an attendee joins the 60-minute session “Fair Labor Standards Act Compliance for ASCs” and completes an evaluation at the end of the session, they would be awarded 1.0 nursing contact hour and 1.0 AEU (if they are CASC certified) for a total of 1.0 continuing education credits for this session.
  • If an attendee joins the 75-minute session “Endoscope Reprocessing—Where Are the Gaps?” and completes an evaluation at the end of the session, they would be awarded 1.25 nursing contact hours, 1.25 AEUs (if they are CASC certified) and 1.25 IPCHs (if they are CAIP certified) for a total of 1.25 continuing education credits for this session.
  • If an attendee attends both sessions above, they would have a total of 2.25 continuing education credits to count toward the maximum total of 26 continuing education credits for the entire conference.
