Build on a Sustainable Foundation to Ensure Your Materials Management Operations Thrive

Do you overnight, borrow and even beg for supplies on a regular basis? Do you have an underlying sense of panic because you might have missed something and feel like you are in a constant state of reaction rather than control? Or, are you just looking for some tools to polish an already thriving supply chain program? The operational processes this session will cover can help you establish or enhance a sustainable foundation for an operationally successful materials management program.

Sourcing’s Role in Materials Management

Effective management of the expenses you incur purchasing supplies and services for your surgery center begins with sourcing. Look at best practices for sourcing everything from commodities to physician preference implants and find out how to uncover and maximize the value Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) provide. Also spend time discussing local and group agreements, including when and how to get the best value, and look at the pros and cons of various types of contracts. End this session with a real-world discussion of negotiations and ways of leveraging your strengths.

Supply Expense Management

Learn about high-level and hands-on approaches to effectively managing supply costs at an ASC. Begin by reviewing processes, including managing physician preferences, introducing new products, managing inventory, best practices in ordering and how to navigate risks. Then, look at managing supply costs in ways that allow an ASC to create comprehensive financial reports, properly budget and track case costs.
