Angie Burnette’s practice encompasses many aspects of health law. She provides general risk management and compliance advice to health care facilities, providers, and health plans. Angie advises health care providers and numerous other clients on HIPAA privacy, security, and breach notification issues, and helps clients respond to data incidents, HIPAA complaints, OCR investigations, and OCR compliance reviews. Angie also handles health care litigation involving issues such as hospital–physician disputes and peer review, resolving matters at the trial and appellate levels.
Angie has advised numerous clients on coronavirus (COVID-19)-related issues, including privacy, employee testing, and return-to-work scenarios.
While at Alston & Bird, she has served as temporary in-house counsel and as national coordinating counsel for clients. She has been an invited lecturer at Emory Law School and has been ranked by The Best Lawyers in America© in the area of Health Care Law since 2017.
