This presentation is a tactical training program designed to equip ASC leaders with the expertise to execute a successful Request for Proposal (RFP) process for orthopedic implants. The presentation emphasizes a data-driven, multistage approach to reduce implant costs by an estimated 15–20 percent while maintaining surgeon support and quality.

The overall goal of this training, delivered by Advantien, is to provide ASC leaders with actionable skills to optimize their vendor negotiations. The specific objectives covered across the three sessions are:

  • Achieve Defined Cost Reduction: To equip attendees with the skills to potentially cut orthopedic implant costs by 15–20 percent through mastery of data and negotiation tactics.
  • Master the Pre-Analysis Phase: To teach leaders how to effectively slice and dice claims data to determine their current spend, identify high-opportunity categories, and define credible, data-driven target pricing.
  • Gain Surgeon Alignment: To outline strategies for conducting a successful RFP Kickoff Meeting, handling surgeon objections, and securing clinical commitment to the negotiation process without compromising patient outcomes or surgeon preferences.
  • Optimize Vendor Engagement: To provide strategies for breaking through pricing myths, using data transparency to drive price reductions, and diligently tracking vendor status and submission deadlines to close negotiations effectively.
  • Empower ASC Leaders with RFP Expertise: To provide the step-by-step knowledge required to lead and execute a complex, approximately two-month-long RFP process.
  • Finalize and Monitor Pricing: To ensure participants know how to finalize contracts, properly load new pricing into their systems (e.g., Envi, HST, SIS), and establish ongoing monitoring to confirm savings are realized and maintained.
