Maximize the Benefits of Your Multi-Generational Workforce
Today’s workforce, and maybe your ASC, relies on at least four generations. With differences in ages come differences in perspectives around work, family, identity, communication style and more. Done well, generationally diverse teams can improve knowledge transfer, succession planning, mentoring, safety and patient service. Left unaddressed, generational differences can lead to conflict, resentment, isolation and even bullying. It is up to you and other leaders in your ASC to show your team how to recognize and embrace generational differences and avoid clashes in values and beliefs. This session will discuss the key characteristics of each generation, intersectionality and how to identify your own unconscious bias. Participants will actively workshop techniques for collaboration, safe sharing, empathy and making people feel valued.

Leveraging Innovative Technology to Maximize the Patient Experience, Improve Operational Efficiencies and Increase Revenue
Ambulatory Surgery Centers are under increasing scrutiny from governing bodies to provide top-notch patient experiences and satisfaction. The Value Based Purchasing (VBP) program has imposed financial sanctions on underperforming hospital facilities creating financial burdens on already razor-thin profit margins. Although it has not yet been implemented for ASCs, the Affordable Care Act required the establishment of a VBP as well. Fortunately, innovative technology has allowed centers to not only cater to a more discriminating healthcare consumer, but improve patient intake, real-time procedural communication, early recovery after surgery, and management/recovery of poor patient experiences. Learn why ASCs can't afford to overlook the patient experience with evolving compensation models and how centers using health tech are winning.
