Addressing the Opioid Crisis in ASCs: Social Risk Scoring, Prevention and Reportable Outcomes Measures
Hosted by HSTpathways

Join us and weigh in on how ASCs can demonstrate leadership in proactive risk scoring, prevention and reporting on outcomes related to the use of opioids in outpatient surgeries. According to a study done by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), "the average rate of later opioid dependence and addiction among surgical patients hovered at 12%." With social determinant risk scoring for potential addiction, prescription protocols and outcomes reporting that consolidated pre-, intra- and postoperative clinical indicators, ASCs could take a leadership role in demonstrating yet another way ASCs are safer environments for surgical procedures. Uniform data standards, data collection tools and benchmarking are measurable ways to decrease the percentage of dependency and addiction. Please join the conversation among ASC leaders to make a measurable difference in the opioid crisis.
