The Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS) Survey became a mandatory component of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) ASC Quality Reporting Program on January 1, 2025. To ensure statistical reliability, ASCs are expected to target a minimum of 200 completed OAS CAHPS Surveys within a 12-month reporting period with month-to-month variation that is anticipated and appropriate. Smaller ASCs with lower patient volumes will survey all OAS CAHPS eligible patients.
