Delivery of Patient Care
Overview: Two days before Thanksgiving in 2013, a family member of a patient stabbed five people at Chrismer’s ASC. Friends, staff members, loved ones, visitors and patients were impacted and changed forever on that day. The staff grieved, mourned, got angry and cried and, then, learned from the event and became stronger. Chrismer, that health system’s risk manager and a first responder at the incident, will share her experience and lessons learned to help you prepare for and avoid an incident of this kind in your ASC.
