Managing Cardiovascular Care in the ASC Setting
In recent years, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) began approving coronary procedures in the outpatient setting that were once permitted only in hospitals. Since then, patients and healthcare providers have shifted their view of cardiovascular care dramatically and witnessed a significant outmigration of cardiac patients. Kelly Bemis, chief clinical officer for National Cardiovascular Partners—a pioneer in this field—will discuss where cardiovascular procedures in ASCs are today, the challenges ASCs face and the opportunities that lie ahead.

How Anesthesia Can Help Transform Your ASC
ASC Administrators are increasingly challenged to thrive in today's value-based healthcare environment. Confronting issues such as staffing, case migration, reporting, new surgical techniques, sicker patients, more complex procedures, less predictable schedules, uneven room optimization and other stressors, ASCs need an anesthesia partner who is aligned with their vision, goals and values. A strong partner must have the scale and resources to provide a fluid, skilled and talented workforce, improve operating room efficiencies, provide meaningful quality data, promote patient safety, create a collaborative culture, increase surgeon and patient satisfaction, and offer customized solutions to help position the facility for growth. With a focus on staffing and quality, this session will discuss what ASCs should expect from their anesthesia provider and how the right anesthesia partnership helps ASCs succeed in this dynamic healthcare market.

Secure the Reimbursements You Deserve for Implants
As more complex procedures continue to shift to the outpatient setting, the implants used in these procedures can require significant investment. Missing out on any implant payment can turn a profitable procedure into a heavy loss for a center. To mitigate financial risks and maximize cash flow, ASCs must negotiate payer contracts that ensure proper implant reimbursement and review and streamline their revenue cycle management (RCM) processes. Participate in this session to hear industry experts share tips for negotiating solid payer contracts, discuss key RCM processes to review and discover overall best practices for securing reimbursements for implants.

How to Know When It Is Time to Consider a Strategic Partner
Hospitals and healthcare systems are aggressively pursuing outpatient surgery strategies, de novo ASC development is on the rise and private equity is moving quickly into the outpatient surgery space.
