ASCA's 5k is a race for all ages and fitness levels! Regular runners and first-timers alike are welcome to join us for the 5k Fun Run/Walk. Whether you’re trying to beat your personal best or walking with friends and co-workers, this is a great way burn some extra calories during the Annual Meeting.

This event is a fun opportunity to soak in the beautiful landscape at Hawk’s Landing– and a terrific way to get your body moving and energized for the rest of the day. Starting at the Falls Fairway Terrace, runners will traverse a course of 3.1 miles and walkers more than 1 mile before concluding the race at the Falls Fairway Terrace. Breakfast will be available in outside the Palms Ballroom before the Friday's general session.

Whether you run along the 3.1-mile course or opt for the 1-mile walking path, you're sure to make every step count when wearing your ASCA 2015 Pedometer. Staying hydrated is easy with water refilling stations along the route; don’t forget your ASCA 2015 reusable water bottle! All race participants will also receive an ASCA 5k Fun Run/Walk t-shirt!

PRIZES

While everyone wins at ASCA’s 5k, prizes will be awarded to the three fastest women and men.

The average conference goer takes more than 8,200 steps per day while attending sessions, walking the exhibit hall, networking and socializing. The first five attendees to achieve 40,000 steps and check in at the ASCA 2015 attendee registration desk win a prize. Boost your overall distance with the 5k Fun Run/Walk! On average, a runner logs about 6,200 steps during a 5k and a walker 2,500 steps during a 1-mile walk.
