Jan Allison

Jan Allison, RN, CHSP

Jan Allison has served as the director of Accreditation and Survey Readiness for Surgical Care Affiliates since 2007. She ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards. She has authored a book on compliance with The Joint Commission standards and published a number of articles on compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements. She also serves as an expert speaker on numerous nationwide audio and live conferences about quality, regulatory and accreditation issues.

Allison is a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses and serves as communication chair for its Ambulatory Specialty Assembly. She also is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and sits on the ASC Advisory Council for The Joint Commission. She is a certified health care professional and has been in the ASC industry since 1985.

Cristina Bentin

Cristina Bentin, CCS-P, COC, CMA

Cristina Bentin is the president and founder of Coding Compliance Management LLC, a health care consulting company specializing in the ASC market with an emphasis on revenue cycle assessments, coding audits and training. She is nationally recognized as a leading freestanding ASC educator and speaker with more than 25 years of experience in the ASC and physician health care setting. She is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and holds its Certified Professional Coder Hospital based credential; a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and has its Certified Coding Specialist – Physician based certification; an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM trainer; a member of the National Association of Health Professionals; and a member of the North American Spine Society. Bentin serves on the Education and Program Committee of ASCA. Prior to establishing Coding Compliance Management LLC, she was the chief financial officer of a surgical hospital and participated in its startup and development. She has had extensive experience with education and training for a national health care corporation, and was directly involved in the continued education of its 200+ ASC facilities and coders nationwide.

Beth Gehrke

Beth Gehrke, CCS-P, COC, CMA

Beth Gehrke is senior director of employee relations at Amsurg. She has a dual bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting and is a certified human resources professional. She has more than 25 years' experience in human resources with health care organizations. She has served as director of human resources with med-surg and psychiatric hospital, rehabilitative and physician services at both the hospital and corporate levels. Her expertise lies in providing guidance to supervisors on how to manage employee performance and behavior.

Ann Geier

Ann Geier, MS, RN, CNOR, CASC

Ann Geier has worked in the ASC industry for 30 years. She has been responsible for every aspect of financial and clinical operations in numerous freestanding surgery centers and has been a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care since 2006. Currently, she is the chief nursing officer for SourceMedical, a provider of software and electronic health records for ASCs, hospital outpatient departments, hospitals and therapy clinics.

Geier’s clinical background is in the operating room, where she served as a scrub nurse, circulator, educator and director. She is an active member of Association of periOperative Registered Nurses and ASCA. At ASCA’s national meeting in May 2014, ASCA – Foundation (ASCAF) selected Geier to represent the association as a liaison with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). The AAAHC Board of Directors appointed her to the Accreditation Committee as one of the five Board members assigned to this committee.

Geier has an ADN from Palm Beach State College, a BS in Health Arts and a MS in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis. She is CASC & CNOR certified. She speaks at national meetings on topics such as supply chain management, human resources, billing & collections, case costing, QAPI, credentialing, peer review and staffing. She contributes articles to Outpatient Surgery Magazine, ASC Focus, Becker’s ASC Review, and has written several white papers, as well as an e-book, “Admin 101: What Every New ASC Administrator Needs to Know.”

John Goehle

John Goehle, MBA, CPA, CASC

John Goehle is the owner of Ambulatory Healthcare Strategies (AHS) LLC, an ASC consulting firm. AHS provides a tiered management and services model that recognizes that all ASCs can benefit from ongoing oversight and guidance services to assure regulatory compliance and fiscal security.

Prior to forming AHS, Goehle developed and managed two Rochester, New York-based ASCs, and provided management consulting services for a wide range of health care organizations, primarily in the Northeast. He has a MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and a BS in accounting from Ithaca College. He holds the prestigious Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) credential and is a Certified Public Accountant. Goehle also is a deemed status accreditation surveyor with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and a frequent speaker on health care finance, technology and administration and has written several books related to the ASC industry including "The Survey Guide for ASCs." He is a former board member with the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association.

Sue Klacik

Sue Klacik, BS, CRCST, ACE, CIS, FCS

Sue Klacik has been the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) representative to the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) since 1997. She has received the IAHCSMM Award of Honor. She is an international speaker and author on CSS topics, a CRCST instructor and writes for two columns Inside Washington an IAHCSMM publication and Sterilization and Infection Prevention in OR Manager.

Bill Lindeman

Bill Lindeman, AIA

JBill Lindeman is the president of WEL Designs PLC, a consulting firm for health care facility development and regulatory compliance. As a licensed architect working exclusively with health care providers since 1983, he has been instrumental in the planning and design of millions of square feet of ASCs, medical practice suites and other health care facilities. He is a recognized expert in CMS Physical Environment Requirements for Medicare Certification and is the physical environment consult to the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Michael Oneal

Michael Oneal, DPh, MBA

Michael Oneal has served as a consultant pharmacist in the Nashville area for the last 23 years working with companies including USPI, HCA, HealthMark Partners, SCA, Symbion, Phybus and several privately owned facilities. In addition, he has vast experience with pharmacy purchasing and inventory control, pharmacy in the perioperative setting and inpatient, outpatient and retail pharmacy experience.

Oneal’s role for surgery centers involves assisting in creating the safest environment for each surgery center as well as maintaining compliance. He works with ASC leadership to develop policies and to institute closed-loop processes that involve multiple licensed personnel in maintaining medication management within each facility.

Oneal is a graduate of the Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University and the New England College School of Business Administration. He is an outdoorsman and enjoys hiking, trail running and spending time with his wife and four young children.

Mark Peters

Mark Peters, JD

A seasoned and creative problem-solver, Mark Peters represents employers throughout the country in litigation and day-to-day advice and counseling. He combines a focus on results with a client-centric approach to serving employers in a broad range of industries from health care to tele-communications to manufacturing to professional sports. Through his extensive work with health care providers in acute care, behavioral health, long-term care, home health and dialysis, health care employers rely upon Peters’s experience to solve their employment issues and disputes with staff and physicians creatively, efficiently and effectively.

Peters works with employers to help manage their workforces and resolve disputes through the most appropriate and cost-efficient means—either through negotiation, litigation or alternative dispute resolution. He has significant jury trial and arbitration success in employment discrimination, retaliatory discharge and harassment cases. He also advocates for employers in matters involving wage and hour collective and class actions, the FMLA, Section 806 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, ERISA claims, unfair labor practices and union negotiations. Additionally, Peters is experienced in successfully developing and implementing mandatory alternative dispute resolution programs.

Chambers USA recognizes Peters as a leading Tennessee attorney in Labor and Employment law, he is peer-review rated ‘AV’ by Martindale-Hubbell and he has been recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer and Rising Star in the field of Employment Law. He has authored numerous articles in national publications and regularly speaks on employment issues throughout the country.

Laurie Roderiques

Laurie Roderiques, RN, CASC, LNC

Laurie Roderiques has worked in either a clinical or administrative leadership role for more than 15 years for multi-specialty ASCs. While in this role, she assisted in agenda preparation for governing board meetings. As a member of her organizations' infection, quality and safety committees she is aware of what her governing boards' responsibilities are and how to incorporate them in their meetings.

For the last 10 years, she also has served as a deemed status surveyor for Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. In addition to surveying and consulting both for ASCs and legal nursing, she also works in an endoscopy center in a clinical role. Roderiques maintains her certifications as a CNOR, CRNFA, along with the illustrious CASC credential.

Gina Throneberry

Gina Throneberry, RN, MBA, CNOR, CASC

Gina Throneberry is the director of Education and Clinical Affairs for the ASCA. In this role she educates members and non-members to the Medicare Quality Measure Reporting Program for Ambulatory Surgery Centers. She also works with federal agencies (Medicare, CDC, and FDA) in regards to clinical, regulatory, and quality issues/concerns among the ASC industry.

Cindy Young

Cindy Young, BSN, RN, CASC

Cindy Young has served as the administrator of Surgery Center of Farmington for the last 14 years. The Surgery Center of Farmington has two operating room and two procedure room and provides multi-specialty outpatient surgical services. This facility has 18 physicians and allied health professionals on staff and performs approximately 4,000 procedures per year.

Young’s accomplishments have included successful three-year accreditations with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, administrator of the year with ASD management in 2001, CASC certification 2007, served on MASCA board and currently serves on ASCA/ASF board. She has been recognized in Becker’s ASC review as one of the ASC administrators to know. Young has spoken at several ASCA annual conferences, FSASC annual meeting, credentialing webinar for ASCA in 2013 and ASCA 2014.
