The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is hosting a conference call today at 2 pm ET to discuss the multi-state investigation of fungal meningitis among patients who received an epidural steroid injection.
The CDC, in consultation with experts in the diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections, has drafted interim treatment guidelines for persons exposed to potentially contaminated steroid products. During the call, subject matter experts will provide updates to the current epidemiology of the outbreak and discuss CDC’s recommended treatment guidance and rationale.
