Wanted: ASCs that Perform Total Joint and/or Spine Procedures

July 2, 2013

Is your ASC performing total joint and/or spine procedures on commercially insured patients? If so, ASCA may need your involvement in a potential government-funded demonstration project. If your center is interested in participating, please e-mail the following information to Steve Miller at smiller@ascassociation.org:

  • Name and address of your center.

  • Name and contact information for a member of your staff that ASCA can talk to about the project.

  • Type of procedures your ASC performs (total knees, total hips, total shoulders and/or spine procedures).

  • List of commercial insurers with which you have a contract to provide these services.

  • Are the payments for procedures part of a bundled payment or fee-for-service arrangement?

  • What arrangement does your facility make for postoperative care?

  • How many of these procedures do you perform per month?

  • How long have you been performing these procedures?

  • Do you collect quality or outcomes data on patients, and if so, are you willing to share that data as part of the potential project?

  • Do you have formal patient selection criteria in place to screen potential candidates?

Any information provided in response to this request will not be shared without prior written permission from your center.
