New ASCA Webinars Address Medicare Regulatory Changes and Compounding Pharmacies

April 29, 2013

ASCA is offering two additional webinars this month and both are free for ASCA members—“CMS’ Interpretive Guidelines: How to Comply with Recent Changes” on Tuesday, May 7, and “New Developments Affecting Compounding Pharmacies and What They Mean for Your ASC” on Tuesday, May 30. Both webinars begin at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The first webinar will outline recent changes to CMS’s Interpretive Guidelines that will affect your ASC, including changes to the regulations for advance directives, humidity levels in the operating/procedure rooms, emergency equipment and same day surgery notification. The webinar is free for ASCA members and $150 for nonmembers.

The second webinar focuses on compounding pharmacies, which have come under increasing scrutiny in the wake of the fungal meningitis outbreak that occurred last year. This webinar will discuss how regulatory developments may impact the way these pharmacies operate, and help you determine how to find safe compounding pharmacies with which to conduct business. This webinar is free for both ASCA members and nonmembers.

Nursing contact hours and AEUs will not be awarded for either webinar, but both will be recorded for viewing at your convenience. Click here to register and to view full program descriptions.
