Joanne Schade-Boyce MS, BSDH, CPC, ACS; Revenue Cycle Auditor and Consultant as well as an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. Ms. Schade-Boyce has over 30 years of experience in healthcare administration with a Master of Science, its focus on Education & Management, from Old Dominion University. Ms. Schade-Boyce has been a lead instructor of educational courses for well over 25 years, as well as an expert in the development of user-friendly training and instructional manuals. Joanne’s areas of expertise include surgical coding, revenue cycle coding audits, on- and off-site surgical coding boot camps, as well as extensive experience natively coding & educating utilizing the ICD-10 coding system. She developed a coding curriculum for Educational Institutions to incorporate ICD-10 education and assisted various educational institutions with the delivery and oversight of various ICD-10 topics. Additionally, she was the creator of an ICD-10-PCS Webinar Series for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) where she coined the phrase “Mental Gymnastics with Root Operations”. Ms. Schade-Boyce is a nationally recognized speaker and her lectures include groups such as the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, DecisionHealth, The Board of Medical Specialty Coding, The Coding Institute, Coding Conferences, AHIMA, OPTUM360, and ASC Communications, Inc. In addition to owning her own company, CodeMed Solutions, LLC, Ms. Schade-Boyce is a Senior Auditor, Revenue Cycle Consultant, and ICD-10 Trainer for other prestigious companies, such as FairCode Associates, LLC a consulting firm specializing in clinical documentation improvement strategies, coding audits and education.
