CASC Review Course

7:45am – 5:00pm

Interested in becoming CASC-certified (Certified Administrator Surgery Center)? If you are planning to take the CASC exam or just want a review of the key areas of ASC administration, this course is for you. Designed for those with ASC experience, this course will review key topics in the five content areas of the CASC exam: regulatory and legal issues, finance, delivery of patient care, quality management and human resources. Includes a networking lunch.

Cost: $195 Members, $295 Nonmembers

What an ASC Manager Needs to Know about Human Resources

8:15am – 5:00pm

Nothing is more important to an ASC's success than its staff, so managers at all levels need to be experts on the nuances of human resources. This one-day program will review all you need to know to hire and retain the best employees. Motivating them to do their best and how to address human resources challenges will be covered. Laws affecting human resources will be reviewed. Interactive sessions will allow some attendees to test their skills and others to learn from their foibles.

Cost: $275 Members, $375 Nonmembers

Preparing for AAAHC Accreditation

9:00am – 12:30pm

Taught by surveyors from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), this session will review AAAHC standards, provide compliance tips and help you prepare for an accreditation survey. Designed for ASCs undergoing accreditation for the first time, it can also serve as a comprehensive review for ASCs preparing for re-accreditation.

Cost: $100 Members, $200 Nonmembers

How to Develop an ASC

9:00am – 5:00pm

Learn the ins and outs of starting an ASC with this in-depth, one-day seminar. Industry insiders will teach you the key items that you will need to consider before deciding to open an ASC and what you need to know to be successful. Topics include feasibility, business plans, having the appropriate partners, contracts and legal issues. This seminar will include a networking lunch with your colleagues.

Cost: $250 Members, $350 Nonmembers

Preparing for The Joint Commission Accreditation

2:00pm – 5:30pm

This overview of The Joint Commission's accreditation standards will provide ASCs with the tools they need to ensure continuous compliance and operational improvement. Attendees will learn the keys to success for the on-site accreditation survey.

CASC Exam

ARE YOU CASC CERTIFIED? PLAN TO TAKE THE CASC EXAM!

If you haven't earned your CASC credential, this is your chance. Plan to arrive in San Antonio early and take the CASC exam. CASC is the only ASC-specific credential and the only credential that recognizes ASC management expertise and can help you demonstrate that expertise to your colleagues in the industry. The exam is being offered by the Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification (BASC). The registration deadline for the exam is April 4, 2008. CHARITY EVENT IN SAN ANTONIO

Continuing a tradition started in New Orleans last year, we are encouraging everyone at the meeting to donate thier time and talents to make a hands-on contribution to San Antonio, our host city for 2008. Although final details are not available yet, meeting attendees, their friends and family members who want to take part, are invited to participate in a special service program on Wednesday, May 14. Just bring yourself and your spirit; we will provide everything else you'll need to make a difference in San Antonio.
