FASA Submits Comments on Stark II Regulations
FASA praises HCFA for recognizing the "unique nature and benefits of ASC services. FASA supports HCFA's decision to exclude implants from coverage when provided in an ASC under certain circumstances. FASA differs with HCFA on the provision of radiology services performed before or after an ASC procedure arguing that "When procedures like these are used to plan or assess the outcome of a surgical procedure, they are just as integral to the procedure as any radiology or ultrasound service performed during the surgery.
